Trans men views on sexism

I found this article very interesting to read about trans men and their views on life and sexism. In my personal opinion I don’t believe that all trans men may share these views however it unfortunately does confirm some of the worst fears about sexism. It is well worth reading and sharing in the hope that it will highlight the issues we still face as a society in tackling sexism with view to changing this.

State Workers In Wisconsin Can Get Transgender Treatments Covered : Shots – Health News : NPR

Great news in Wisconsin for transgender people who are State workers where there transgender treatment will now be covered. A great step forward for transgender people in USA and for society to recognise that transgender people should have insurance cover to cover their hormone treatment and gender confirmation surgery.

If employers only knew the personal pain and cost that transgender people go through to become their complete and true selves. If they did then we would have far better support in workplaces as well as health insurance providers offering covering for hormone treatment, gender confirmation surgery and all associated surgeries that go along with changing gender.

Let us hope that one day that all other states and countries that don’t offer this or health insurance companies don’t soon follow suit.

A Wisconsin insurance board has reversed a decision made last year to bar coverage of transgender hormone therapy and surgery for public workers.

Transgender activists accused of attempting to shut down debate

Victoria Atkins is only raising the issue with best interests of all at heart. We should allow all to have their say. I tend to agree that caution and common sense should prevail with regards to teenagers and ‘medical interventions’. However they should get all the support they need and be allowed the medical treatment they need and want to safely transition.

There is no place in a modern society for Alex Jones. People are entitled to their views however there is a tipping point over which no one should go. Let us hope in the future this type of transphobia will be a mere blip if exist at all.

Good times ahead

Sometimes we have circumstances or issues in our lives which don’t seem fair or are bad. If we realise that they are merely a test of our character then we can view them with new lenses. Seeing with new lenses helps us put everything into perspective.

By being grateful for where you are at helps you get through the bad times. It has helped me by having this attitude, recognizing that it is only a part of my life not all of it.

By realising that these times will soon end and better times are ahead for us with better things in store for us we can all smile and make it through the bad times.
