Great to see that Air New Zealand being recognised for leading the way in diversity and inclusion. If more organisations were like Air New Zealand in having programs for diversity and inclusion that allows people to be their true selves and bring their authentic self to work then we would have less mental health issues and far more productive workplaces.
It takes true leadership and courage as well to create change. Increasing the gender diversity in the leadership team is a great thing and can only benefit the organisation with more awareness of the challenges women face in rising through the ranks and barriers they face to advance their career.
Let us hope that this inspires other organisations to follow Air New Zealand’s lead and continues to increase diversity and inclusion in organisations which leads to better understanding of those from diverse backgrounds in society as well.
