Organisations say they are inclusive but the reality is far from the truth. Is that the case here or is it as the National Theatre say it was the group’s behaviour that meant they were asked to leave.
Did the women’s t-shirts offend people or was it too confronting for other people to handle? One begs the question that shouldn’t people be allowed t-shirts stating “Lesbian: a woman who loves other women”, or is this now also politically incorrect to do so?
Whatever the case maybe they did provoke action which forced them to be asked to leave the bar. However one also wonders whether society is still grappling with the reality of women being themselves and being proud enough to display it. Are we still a conservative society or an open society? One can only wonder and contemplate.
